I don't want to say it was the best day of my life...but-

We went to a pumpkin patch today and it was so empty...because it was cloudy and drizzling a teeny tiny bit. So everyone stays in doors. It was so delightful. Who needs hayrides and ponys and hot apple cider and games and other kids. We love a nice empty lot in the Pacific Palisades with a bunch of giant perfect pumpkins everywhere. And some random decorations. Perfect. I wore an orange jacket by mistake and Leo and Jeff kept losing me amongst the pumpkins.

Today Jeff and I were playing "Rock Paper Scissors" to see who would clean up after Leo's lunch and who would get him ready to go out to the Pumpkin Patch. The easier job is the clean up--obviously. So we go '1-2-3--" and I throw out a 'PAPER' and Jeff throws out this "THUMBS UP". I was like 'what the hell is that?" and he said "dynamite. I win. Dynamite blows up paper." Then we fought for 10 minutes about how there is NO SUCH THING AS DYNAMITE. Apparently, in Brooklyn, where he grew up--they were all gangster and threw out 'dynamite'. I had to google it to see if there was such an option and the first thing that come up was "the myth of 'dynamite" in ROCK PAPER SCISSORS." I just wanted to blog about this so everyone is aware that the man will try to get all Brooklyn on you and throw out Dynamite. I'm sure he does this in hopscotch and Backgammon too.

Today was a wonderful day. I want to remember it. Jeff and I have pushed and pulled at each other for seven years....fought and made up and kept it going and threatened to break up every few days etc etc. But today was so perfect and I loved him and Leo so much that I feel obnoxious writing it because I always hate when people throw their 'perfect' lives in my face on facebook. But I think I complain enough and am cynical enough to earn one sincere---"I had a perfect day with 2 perfect people". I need to remember to call my old therapist and tell her thank you.

We went to the farmers market in the morning--we came home--there was a nap involved--we both sent emails inviting folks to my show on Sunday night--then the pumpkin patch. Then we laid in the park and crawled all over each other. Then we had to run and get in our car because the park ranger was coming and we hadn't paid for parking and didn't want to because it was 7 dollars. Then we went to Pinkberry.

The indy date is still pending---the guy from the Phoenix theater was so....underwhelmed but yet I could tell he was into me coming there. He said he only had mon-tues and wed nights free in july and Aug--when I want to come. The man has no sense of humor. That is for sure. I mean I WAS HILARIOUS on the phone with him and he was very serious like we were talking about some health issue or something. I like my theater people fun and jokey. But I"m going to find a place to perform--I PROMISE.
