So I get to fly first class to and from Michigan but I could care less because I'm so bummed about missing Leo. (well, I say that NOW I'm not on the plane yet. Maybe in 20 minutes from now I'll be drinking free wine as I recline in my seat and forget that I even have a kid) Jeff is in Seattle with Leo doing Easter things with friends--he said that Leo is just crushing all the eggs and taking all the stuffing out of the Easter Baskets. So that helps being away too...cuz that sounds HORRIFIC. I'm kidding--that sounds adorable. I MISS HIM. I'm not doing this again...being away so long. When I go to DC in the winter I'm gonna have him with me. On his leash. I don't use a leash but I was thinking that I'd name my next book "CRUMBS IN MY SPANKS AND BABIES ON LEASHES". Spanks are the modern day girdle. (that's for my dad).
Leo and Jeff get to Portland on Wednesday night....Jeff has just discovered the joy of putting Leo to sleep in the car and then transferring him when he gets home. For some reason we have always been scared to do that--cuz WHAT IF IT DIDN'T WORK AND HE WAS UP ALL NIGHT? So late on Wednesday night they will arrive. And I cannot wait. The theater has put us up in the fanciest apartment building ever and all thanks to all my demands I was making because of Leo. I needed at least a one bedroom and a bathtub..which meant they couldn't put us in the flop house they normally put the other actors from out of town. I'll post pictures later but basically it's a brand new high rise on the 18th floor with amazing glass walls that look out over Portland. I can't wait for Leo to kiss the windows.
