Leo and his Glittery Nanny

It's been forever since my last blog post because I'm in Portland and everything I write has to be material for my new play.   It's back to the message I'm really trying to teach Leo---career first....family second.  He may be getting the message.  He told a cab driver that I worked all the time.  Which I was flattered by.   I tried to get him to tell him that I work-OUT all the time too but he's honest.

First of all let me saying that flying out Emma and having her sleep on a couch and eat bread and butter for every meal has been the best thing I've ever done.  She's wonderful.  She told Leo today "no TV after we get back to the Hotel room--don't even ask."  I love it.  She's been attentive and sweet. She talks really loud which at first I thought was a problem but Leo loves it.   I've gotten over everyone in a one mile radius knowing that there's a 'PRETTY PURPLE BIKE!!!" She has been a wonderful laid back companion and I'm so so grateful.  I want to do it again.   And the bonus is that when we went to the zoo and I started freaking out at the crowds she gave me a xanax.   (Leslie..don't get mad.)    So I have a drug dealer and nanny and funny niece as my constant companion.  She also reads about 8 books a day.

The zoo was hell....and as soon as we walked up Leo shouted (everyone is so LOUD) that there were too many people. And then he yelled at everyone who brushed up against him to stop touching him and turned little kids in for stepping on his foot.  There was a lot of "HEY!! HE STEPPED ON ME! DON'T STEP ON ME!! DON'T DO THAT!"   thanks to the xanax I was able to handle it.  "yeah, don't step on him."  I'd tell him and then go buy him another ice cream cone.

Portland has been fun....exhausting but fun.  As I type this everyone is napping and I wish I was napping.
