Leo's first real bath...he liked it. We gave him another one last night and Jeff's elbow accidentally hit a bottle of conditioner that was pretty much empty---but it conked him on the head. Somewhat destroying the whole 'relaxation' motif. We both freaked out after it hit him on the head....there's no mark or anything--but we grabbed him and rocked him and apologized for the next half hour.
Today is Christmas eve--and I miss my families. All of them. I wish they could enjoy Leo too--he doesn't smile yet but he farts all the time-which makes us smile pretty much every time. It's more the fact that he grunts and farts that warms our hearts.
We are staying at home tonight--playing games--eating and opening gifts with Leo and tomorrow we're having dinner with my friends Christie and Marc and their 2 kids...which is going to be nice because they love food and babies. And wine. So they'll be good christmas company..
A baby is almost as good as wearing a new pair of amazing boots out in public because every where I go with Leo women stop and ask me about him---little kids especially love babies. I didn't really know that--I remembered seeing a little 4 year old girl starring at my friend Christie's baby and suddenly balling up her fist to punch it. Her dad had to tell her "no no--we don't hit the baby". So I thought that babies made kids have the urge to smother and kill...but no.
I hope everybody is having a wonderful Christmas--thank you to everyone for helping Jeff and I bring Leo into the world--thank you for the clothing--the boxes of hand me downs--the toys--the strollers--the car seats--the bottles--the bibs--the calls and the incredible support. I wanted to have a baby to feel more a sense of family in my life--and I have gotten exactly what I'd hoped for plus so much more. So it's a good Christmas. Merry Christmas....
Emma and I love his big round baby belly! She wants to know what he has been eating ! We love you and wish you a Merry Christmas, xoxo
