our brand new camera

given to us by Tessa...and this was our first day TESTING IT OUT. I want you to know that this is my nap time but I felt like I should blog in case Jeff has a chance to get on the web. the photos are slightly like every other beach shot that we've taken over the years but it's the new camera so THERE'S THAT. and Leo is a man now. We met our friend Jay at the beach and after we were in the car driving away Leo said "Jay is VERY nice." He does that kind of thing a lot--and says things like "Emily was VERY fun." In a sort of chatty lady way.."well THAT was a lovely walk". kind of tone. "this cheese is VERY nice." Jay kept making comments about how children always have to be center of attention and then he told me a story about how he had to send his dogs away to a special school where they taught dogs to deal with boredom..for those owners who have lavished too much attention on their dogs. I think he was trying to tell me something. Leo gets bored. We don't have a TV in our car. that's pretty intense. he also waves and talks to every thing like it's going to come to life. He says hi to my knees and the trash can and the broom. I've stopped giving everything voices because I can't have the every appliance and sock in the house have a voice-a name and a backstory. It's exhausting. He calls my fingers "Dee Dee" on one hand and on the other hand is Dee Dee's husband Doo Doo. I told him they're a married couple in Brooklyn. Hence the accents. i don't even put on big shows anymore with Dee Dee and Doo Doo like I used to--now instead of 'going on a big climb up your knee!' they do ordinary things like laundry--and drive the car. My friend Wendy was right--don't entertain your kids too much or else their turn into Ballet instructors..'HIGHER!! HIGHER!!" Wendy is my best friend from High School who we went to visit last weekend in Manhattan Beach and right before we left Wendy's daughter asked her why she (Wendy) had played with her and her brother so much more than normal at the beach and Wendy replied "I wanted to impress my friend". I'm not getting enough writing done....but otherwise everything is good. Leo asked about Jeff a few times and I told him that he was on a boat fishing. He seems okay with that. He's having fun at his drop off childcare place. I'm feeding him. So I think we're doing well...
